What is Autism?

Autism, as it is defined in the DSM-5, is a neurological disorder that affects things such as sensory input and processes, display of emotion and other aspects. It affects all five senses of the human body in varying ways, and is dependent on the individual.

Although Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is common in both genders, it is harder for females to get diagnosed and most women and girls don't get the blessing of early diagnosis, some even have to wait until adulthood to even begin the diagnostic process!
